Who directed the season 6 episode I, Ooh, Baby Baby?

Alfonso Ribeiro directed the season 6 episode “I, Ooh, Baby Baby” of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The episode is the season’s 11th installment and originally aired on December 11, 1995.

Ribeiro was already one of the show’s principal actors, playing Carlton Banks, when he moved behind the camera. His directing credit makes this episode notable because he directed fellow cast members while continuing to perform as Carlton.

The story centers on Hilary feeling unfulfilled despite her television career and deciding that she wants a baby. Will tries to help her think through the decision, while other members of the Banks family deal with their own holiday-season activities. The episode combines a personal storyline with the show’s usual family comedy.

Ribeiro later built a substantial television-directing career, working on programs including In the House, All of Us, One on One, Meet the Browns and Are We There Yet? His first Fresh Prince directing credit came during the show’s final season.
