Who directed the 2006 film The Da Vinci Code?
Answer
Ron Howard
Answer
Ron Howard
Ron Howard directed the 2006 film The Da Vinci Code.
The film adapts Dan Brown’s 2003 bestselling thriller about symbologist Robert Langdon and cryptologist Sophie Neveu. Their investigation begins in Paris and leads through religious art, secret societies and competing interpretations of the Holy Grail.
Howard had already directed major films such as Apollo 13 and A Beautiful Mind before making the adaptation. Tom Hanks played Langdon, while Audrey Tautou played Neveu. The movie was written by Akiva Goldsman and produced by Columbia Pictures.
The story’s claims about Leonardo da Vinci, Mary Magdalene and the Grail are elements of a fictional conspiracy thriller, not established Christian history. The film’s use of real artworks and locations helped create an impression of documentary authenticity, but its central revelations are invented for the novel and screenplay.
