Who did the San Diego Chargers lose to in the 2008 divisional playoff game?

The story behind the answer

The San Diego Chargers lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2008 AFC Divisional playoff game.

The game was played on January 11, 2009, at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. The Steelers won 35–24, ending San Diego's postseason run after the Chargers had defeated the Indianapolis Colts 23–17 in overtime in the Wild Card round.

Pittsburgh controlled much of the divisional game with a strong defense and an efficient rushing attack. Steelers running back Willie Parker rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns. Pittsburgh also scored on a Santonio Holmes punt return and received a touchdown from tight end Heath Miller.

The Chargers did produce several explosive plays. Philip Rivers threw touchdown passes to Vincent Jackson, Legedu Naanee, and Darren Sproles, but San Diego struggled badly in the third quarter, running only one offensive play. The Steelers advanced to the AFC Championship Game and ultimately won Super Bowl XLIII by defeating the Arizona Cardinals.
