Who created the Pandora Hearts manga, whose title references Pandora's mythological box?

The story behind the answer

Jun Mochizuki created the Pandora Hearts manga, whose title references Pandora's mythological box.

Pandora Hearts is a Japanese fantasy manga written and illustrated by Jun Mochizuki. It was serialized in Square Enix's Monthly GFantasy from 2006 to 2015 and collected in 24 tankōbon volumes. The story follows Oz Vessalius, who is condemned to the Abyss and becomes involved with a mysterious chain named Alice.

The series uses the language of Pandora's box as part of a wider fantasy mythology involving the Abyss, chains, contracts, and lost memories. Its plot is not a direct retelling of Hesiod's Greek story. Instead, the reference helps establish themes of hidden dangers, released forces, and a world altered by the opening of a forbidden container.

An anime television adaptation aired in 2009. It is separate from Pandora's Tower, another Japanese fantasy game whose title also evokes Pandora but whose characters and story are different.
