Who co-created the television series Twin Peaks with David Lynch?

The story behind the answer

Mark Frost co-created the television series Twin Peaks with David Lynch.

Frost and Lynch developed the series for the American Broadcasting Company, combining a murder mystery with surrealism, soap-opera drama, supernatural horror, and small-town eccentricity. Frost brought extensive television-writing experience, while Lynch supplied the distinctive visual and atmospheric style associated with the show.

Twin Peaks premiered in 1990 and centers on the investigation into Laura Palmer’s death. Frost and Lynch also co-wrote the 1992 prequel film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me and returned as the principal creative team for Twin Peaks: The Return in 2017.

A common mix-up is to credit Lynch alone because he directed the pilot and several prominent episodes. However, Frost was a full co-creator and an important architect of the show’s mythology, characters, and long-form storytelling.
