Who betrayed Samson to the Philistines? Delilah betrayed Samson by helping the Philistine rulers discover the source of his strength. Their story appears in Judges 16, where Samson falls in love with Delilah in the Valley of Sorek.

The Philistine rulers offer Delilah 1,100 pieces of silver each to learn how Samson can be subdued. Samson repeatedly deceives her, claiming that different kinds of bindings will weaken him. After persistent pressure, he reveals that his strength is connected to his uncut hair, a visible sign of his lifelong Nazirite dedication to God.

While Samson sleeps, Delilah summons a servant to cut his hair. The Philistines seize him, gouge out his eyes, imprison him, and force him to grind grain in Gaza. His hair later begins to grow again, and at a festival honoring Dagon, Samson brings down the temple pillars, killing himself and many Philistines.

The Bible does not explicitly call Delilah a Philistine, nor does it say they were married. Those details come from later interpretation and popular retellings. Abigail, Michal, and Jezebel belong to different biblical narratives and are not responsible for Samson’s capture.
