Mauro Biello became interim coach of the Montreal Impact in 2015.

The Impact appointed Biello on August 29, 2015, after dismissing head coach Frank Klopas following a 2–1 loss to Toronto FC. Biello had already been part of Montreal’s coaching staff and knew the club well from his earlier playing career.

Under Biello, Montreal finished the regular season with a 7–2–2 record and reached the 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs. The team defeated Toronto in the knockout round before losing to Columbus Crew in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

A common mix-up is that Biello was initially only the interim coach. After his successful late-season run, Montreal removed the interim label in November 2015 and appointed him permanent head coach. The club was later rebranded as CF Montréal in 2021.
