Who authored 'Ender's Game'?

The story behind the answer

Orson Scott Card authored 'Ender's Game'.

The novel, published in 1985, follows Andrew “Ender” Wiggin, a gifted child recruited to Battle School to prepare for a possible third war against an insectoid alien species known as the buggers. Ender and other children practice strategy through increasingly difficult games, including battles in zero gravity.

Card originally wrote 'Ender's Game' as a science-fiction story published in Analog magazine in 1977. He later expanded that story into the novel, which develops Ender's training, moral choices, and growing understanding of the conflict. The book became the first volume of a major series, followed by 'Speaker for the Dead'.

A common mix-up is confusing the novel's author with its film adaptation. The 2013 movie was directed by Gavin Hood and had a screenplay co-written by Hood and Card, but Card wrote the original book. The novel won both the Hugo and Nebula Awards for Best Novel in 1986.
