Which year did the Deutsche Guggenheim in Berlin close permanently?

The story behind the answer

The Deutsche Guggenheim in Berlin closed permanently in 2013.

The exhibition space opened in 1997 inside the Deutsche Bank headquarters on Unter den Linden in Berlin. It was created through a partnership involving Deutsche Bank and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, and it presented a changing programme of modern and contemporary art.

Rather than functioning like a large independent museum, the Deutsche Guggenheim was a compact gallery designed around temporary exhibitions. Its programme included projects by established and emerging artists, often with works commissioned or specially presented for the space.

The venue ended its exhibition operations in February 2013. Its closure is sometimes confused with the closures of other short-lived Guggenheim projects, including Guggenheim Museum SoHo in New York and the Guggenheim Hermitage Museum in Las Vegas.
