Which Wright brother died in 1912 after suffering from typhoid fever?

The story behind the answer

Wilbur Wright died in 1912 after suffering from typhoid fever.

Wilbur became ill in April 1912 and died in Dayton, Ohio, on May 30, 1912, at the age of 45. Contemporary accounts and later biographies identify typhoid fever as the cause of death. His death came less than a decade after the brothers’ first powered flights and only a few years after their aircraft company began commercial operations.

Orville Wright survived Wilbur by more than three decades and died in 1948. Because both brothers are usually discussed together, their individual life dates are sometimes mixed up. Wilbur was the elder brother and played a major role in the brothers’ experiments, public demonstrations, business decisions, and legal battles over aircraft patents.
