Which whale is famous for using bubble-net feeding to concentrate schools of fish?

The story behind the answer

The humpback whale is famous for using bubble-net feeding to concentrate schools of fish.

During this cooperative behavior, one or more humpback whales release bubbles beneath or around a fish school. The rising curtain of bubbles can confuse or contain the fish, allowing whales to swim upward through the concentrated prey with open mouths.

Bubble-net feeding is especially associated with humpbacks in places such as Alaska, although not every humpback population uses exactly the same technique. Groups may coordinate their movements and calls while feeding.

The behavior is not the same as ordinary filter feeding alone. Humpbacks do use baleen plates to strain food from seawater, but bubble nets are a specialized hunting strategy. Humpbacks also eat krill and other small prey, depending on location and season.
