Which Vogue edition was launched in 2012 as the first Dutch-language edition of Vogue?

The story behind the answer

Vogue Netherlands was launched in 2012 as the first Dutch-language edition of Vogue.

The edition was created for readers in the Netherlands and established a Dutch editorial counterpart to Vogue’s international magazine network. Its launch expanded Vogue’s European presence beyond long-established editions such as British Vogue, French Vogue, and Vogue Italia.

Vogue Netherlands is sometimes confused with other European editions because several launched around the same period. Vogue Turkey began in 2010, while Vogue Ukraine launched in 2013. Vogue Scandinavia, covering Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, and Iceland, arrived much later in 2021.

The phrase “Dutch-language edition” identifies Vogue Netherlands by language and market. It should not be confused with a Belgian or Swiss edition, which serve different national publishing markets and have different editorial histories.
