Spider-Man battled Rhino at the end of the 2014 film The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The villain is Aleksei Sytsevich, a criminal wearing a powerful mechanized suit designed to resemble a rhinoceros.
Rhino appears in the film’s opening sequence as well, when Spider-Man stops Sytsevich during an armored-car robbery. Near the ending, Sytsevich escapes in the heavily armed Rhino suit and begins rampaging through New York. Peter Parker has withdrawn from crime-fighting after Gwen Stacy’s death, but he ultimately returns as Spider-Man when he sees the danger.
The final confrontation is deliberately brief and ends on a cliffhanger as Spider-Man faces Rhino in the street. Because Electro and Green Goblin drive most of the film’s central plot, viewers sometimes remember one of them as the final opponent. However, the last on-screen villain encounter is Spider-Man versus Rhino, played by Paul Giamatti. The film never shows the full outcome of that battle.
