Which Venezuelan salsero recorded 'Llorarás' with Dimensión Latina in 1974?

Oscar D'León recorded “Llorarás” with Venezuela’s Dimensión Latina in 1974. He was the group’s bassist, lead singer and principal songwriter during its breakthrough period.

Dimensión Latina was founded in 1972 in Caracas by D'León, trombonist César “Albóndiga” Monge and percussionists José Rodríguez and Elio Pacheco, among others. The orchestra helped establish Venezuela as a major center of salsa production during the genre’s international boom.

“Llorarás,” composed by D'León, became the group’s best-known recording. It appeared on the 1974 album Dimensión Latina 75 and became a major international salsa hit. The recording is sometimes associated with the 1975 title because of the album’s name, but contemporary discographies list the album as a 1974 release.
