Which Vampire Weekend album includes two Steve Lacy guest appearances?

The story behind the answer

Father of the Bride is the Vampire Weekend album that includes two Steve Lacy guest appearances.

Released on May 3, 2019, Father of the Bride is the band's fourth studio album and their first following the departure of multi-instrumentalist Rostam Batmanglij. Steve Lacy appears on two tracks: he contributes vocals and guitar to "Sunflower" and also appears on "Flower Moon."

The collaboration is easy to miss because Lacy is not a formal member of Vampire Weekend. He was already known for his work with the Internet and for producing and recording music in an unusually self-directed way, making him a natural fit for the album's broad collection of outside collaborators. Danielle Haim, DJ Dahi, BloodPop, and others also contributed to the record.

A common mix-up is choosing Modern Vampires of the City, the band's previous album, or Only God Was Above Us, released years later in 2024. Father of the Bride is also notable for presenting a more expansive, collaborative sound while retaining Ezra Koenig's songwriting identity.
