The UNESCO World Heritage Site preserving Park Güell and Casa Batlló is Works of Antoni Gaudí.
This serial site in Barcelona and nearby locations recognizes seven buildings and architectural works by Antoni Gaudí, the Catalan architect known for organic forms, vivid surfaces and inventive structural techniques. The group was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1984 and extended in 2005.
The listed works include Park Güell, Palau Güell, Casa Milà, Casa Vicens, the Crypt and Nativity façade of the Sagrada Família, and the Crypt at Colònia Güell. Casa Batlló was added to the series during the 2005 extension.
The designation is not the same as the entire city of Barcelona or every Gaudí building. It identifies selected works that demonstrate his exceptional contribution to architecture and modernist design. The Sagrada Família remains unfinished, but its listed parts are protected within the UNESCO series.
