Answer
Historic Centre of Prague
Answer
Historic Centre of Prague
The Historic Centre of Prague is the UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for Prague Castle and the Charles Bridge.
The property encompasses Prague’s historic districts, including Staré Město, Josefov, Malá Strana and parts of Hradčany and Nové Město. Together they preserve a remarkable sequence of Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and later buildings.
Prague Castle dominates the city from a hill above the Vltava River, while the Charles Bridge links the castle district with the Old Town. The historic centre also includes the Old Town Square, St Vitus Cathedral and the medieval astronomical clock.
The site was inscribed in 1992. It is distinct from other Czech World Heritage properties such as Český Krumlov and Kutná Hora, which are separate historic towns with their own listings.
