Answer
Zambia and Zimbabwe
Answer
Zambia and Zimbabwe
Zambia and Zimbabwe share Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River.
Victoria Falls lies on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, where the Zambezi River drops across a broad basalt gorge. The local Lozi name, Mosi-oa-Tunya, means “The Smoke That Thunders,” describing the spray and roar produced when the river is in full flow.
Scottish explorer David Livingstone saw the falls in 1855 and named them after Queen Victoria. The falls are about 1,708 metres wide, making them one of the world's largest sheets of falling water by combined width and height, though seasonal flow changes the spectacle considerably.
The Zambian town of Livingstone and Zimbabwe's resort town of Victoria Falls provide major access points. Niagara Falls is another famous international waterfall, but it lies between Canada and the United States, not at Victoria Falls.
