Which TV network originally aired Brooklyn Nine-Nine?

The story behind the answer

Which TV network originally aired Brooklyn Nine-Nine? Fox originally aired the series.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine premiered in the United States on September 17, 2013, as part of Fox’s comedy lineup. The show was created by Dan Goor and Michael Schur and followed the detectives of Brooklyn’s fictional 99th Precinct, led by Captain Raymond Holt.

A common mix-up comes from the show’s later network change. Fox canceled Brooklyn Nine-Nine in May 2018 after five seasons, but NBC quickly picked it up. NBC then aired seasons 6 through 8, including the show’s final season. That later association with NBC does not change the answer about the original broadcaster.

The Fox era included the show’s introduction, Jake Peralta and Amy Santiago’s relationship development, and the first five seasons of the ensemble comedy. The fifth-season finale, “Jake & Amy,” was the last episode to air on Fox before the series moved to NBC.
