Which treaty ended the American Revolutionary War, whose outcome is commemorated by America250?

The story behind the answer

The Treaty of Paris ended the American Revolutionary War, whose outcome is commemorated by America250.

Signed on September 3, 1783, the treaty recognized the independence of the United States from Great Britain. It also established boundaries for the new nation, generally extending west to the Mississippi River, north to the Great Lakes, and south to Spanish Florida.

The American negotiators included Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, John Jay, and Henry Laurens. Britain’s formal recognition was the diplomatic conclusion of the war, although fighting and negotiations had continued after the American victory at Yorktown in 1781.

This treaty should not be confused with the Treaty of Ghent, which ended the War of 1812, or the 1783 Treaty of Paris agreements involving other European powers. The 1783 agreement is specifically the one that concluded the American Revolutionary War.
