Which three countries received Pokémon Go first when it launched?

The story behind the answer

Australia, New Zealand, and the United States received Pokémon Go first when it launched.

The mobile augmented-reality game began its regional rollout on July 6, 2016, in those three countries. Players used smartphones to find virtual Pokémon overlaid on real-world locations, visit PokéStops, and battle or train Pokémon through location-based gameplay.

Pokémon Go was developed by Niantic in collaboration with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. It used technology and location data related to Niantic’s earlier game Ingress, helping transform ordinary landmarks into in-game points of interest.

The release then expanded rapidly. Germany received the game on July 13, the United Kingdom on July 14, and Japan on July 22, 2016. Because the game became globally popular within days, many players remember the worldwide phenomenon more clearly than its initial three-country launch.
