Which Tesla model is a compact SUV?
Answer
Model Y
Answer
Model Y
Tesla’s compact SUV is the Model Y.
Introduced in March 2019 and first delivered in 2020, the Model Y is a battery-electric compact crossover SUV. It shares much of its engineering and design with the Model 3 sedan, but its taller body, raised seating position, and larger cargo area give it the proportions of an SUV.
The Model Y expanded Tesla’s range beyond sedans and helped bring the brand into the rapidly growing crossover market. It is offered with rear-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive, depending on the version and market. Some configurations have also offered an optional third row.
The other choices belong to different vehicle categories: Model S is a large luxury sedan, Model 3 is a smaller sedan, and Model X is a larger SUV with distinctive falcon-wing doors. The “Y” name is part of Tesla’s playful S3XY model-name sequence: Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y.
