Which team won Super Bowl X, one of the first major events of the 1976 Bicentennial year?

The story behind the answer

The Pittsburgh Steelers won Super Bowl X, one of the first major events of the 1976 Bicentennial year.

Super Bowl X was played on January 18, 1976, at the Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida. The Steelers defeated the Dallas Cowboys 21–17 in a game whose pregame and halftime programming celebrated the United States Bicentennial.

Players on both teams wore special Bicentennial logo patches on their jerseys. The halftime show, performed by Up with People, was titled “200 Years and Just a Baby: A Tribute to America’s Bicentennial,” tying the championship game directly to the national anniversary.

Pittsburgh’s Lynn Swann was named the game’s Most Valuable Player after catching four passes for 161 yards and a touchdown. His performance made him the first wide receiver to win Super Bowl MVP. The game is sometimes confused with later Steelers–Cowboys Super Bowls, but Super Bowl X was their first championship meeting and ended with Pittsburgh’s 21–17 victory.
