Which team won Super Bowl V?
Answer
Baltimore Colts
Answer
Baltimore Colts
Which team won Super Bowl V? The Baltimore Colts won Super Bowl V, defeating the Dallas Cowboys 16–13.
The game was played on January 17, 1971, at the Orange Bowl in Miami. It decided the champion for the 1970 NFL season, the first season after the American Football League and NFL completed their merger structure. Baltimore's winning points came on Jim O'Brien's field goal with five seconds remaining.
Super Bowl V is remembered as one of the most mistake-filled championship games in NFL history. The teams combined for 11 turnovers, and the Colts became the first team to win a Super Bowl despite committing more turnovers than their opponent. Baltimore linebacker Chuck Howley of Dallas won game MVP, the only player from a losing team ever to receive that award.
The victory gave the Colts their first Super Bowl title and their first NFL championship since 1959. The game was also the first Super Bowl played on artificial turf.
