Which team lost the Super Bowl four consecutive times?

The story behind the answer

The Buffalo Bills lost the Super Bowl four consecutive times. They reached Super Bowls XXV, XXVI, XXVII, and XXVIII in four straight seasons, from the 1990 through 1993 campaigns, but lost each championship game.

The streak began with a 20–19 loss to the New York Giants in Super Bowl XXV. Buffalo then fell to Washington in Super Bowl XXVI and to the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowls XXVII and XXVIII. The final two defeats came in consecutive years against the same Dallas team, making the run especially painful for Bills fans.

The Bills remain the only team to appear in four consecutive Super Bowls, and their 0–4 record across that stretch is one of the most recognizable episodes in NFL history. A common mistake is confusing four straight appearances with four straight wins: Buffalo’s achievement was reaching the game repeatedly, not capturing the title. The franchise had won consecutive AFL championships in 1964 and 1965 before this later Super Bowl run.
