Which Taylor Swift album includes the song “august”?

Taylor Swift’s song “august” appears on the album Folklore.

Folklore is Swift’s eighth studio album and was released by Republic Records on July 24, 2020. The album was announced only one day before release, making it one of her most notable surprise projects.

“august” belongs to a connected three-song storyline on Folklore. Alongside “Cardigan” and “Betty,” it explores a fictional love triangle involving Betty, James, and the unnamed narrator of “august.” Each song presents a different viewpoint.

Listeners sometimes connect the album’s late-summer atmosphere with the song’s annual August resurgence. However, “august” is not a separate single from another record: it is an album track created specifically for Folklore’s fictional world.
