Which symbol appears in the center of the Mitsubishi Motors logo?
Answer
Three diamonds
Answer
Three diamonds
Three diamonds appear in the center of the Mitsubishi Motors logo.
The Mitsubishi emblem consists of three red diamonds arranged into a compact triangular formation. The name itself combines “mitsu,” meaning three, and “hishi,” a word associated with the diamond or water-chestnut shape in Japanese. The design therefore connects the company name with its central geometric symbol.
The emblem developed from the crests associated with the Iwasaki family and the Tosa clan. One source of the design is the three-diamond crest of the Iwasaki family, while another is the three-leaf crest linked to Tosa. Mitsubishi’s corporate identity adopted the three-diamond form in the late nineteenth century.
The mark is sometimes called three triangles because each diamond has triangular visual facets. Its canonical description, however, is three diamonds. Mitsubishi Motors shares the broader Mitsubishi identity but is a separate automotive company within the Mitsubishi group.
