Which studio developed Pokémon Red and Green?
Answer
Game Freak
Answer
Game Freak
Game Freak developed Pokémon Red and Green.
Game Freak was founded by Satoshi Tajiri and became the primary video game developer for the Pokémon series. The studio created the original Game Boy games in cooperation with Nintendo, which published them and supported the franchise’s hardware and distribution.
The games combined role-playing mechanics with collecting, exploration, battling, and trading. Their link-cable trading system was especially important because it encouraged players to connect two Game Boy systems and exchange version-exclusive Pokémon.
Game Freak is sometimes confused with Creatures, another company closely connected to Pokémon. Creatures helped with the franchise and developed several related games, including the Pokémon Trading Card Game, while Game Freak developed the core role-playing games. Nintendo published the original titles.
