Stevie Wonder’s 1972 album Talking Book includes the song “You’ve Got It Bad Girl.”
Talking Book was released by Tamla in October 1972 and became a landmark in Wonder’s transition toward greater artistic control. The album combines keyboards, synthesizers, harmonica, percussion, and layered studio production across songs about love, desire, and emotional conflict.
Its best-known tracks include “Superstition” and “You Are the Sunshine of My Life,” but “You’ve Got It Bad Girl” is an important album cut and helps identify the record precisely.
Talking Book is sometimes confused with Innervisions because both belong to Wonder’s celebrated early-1970s sequence. Talking Book came first, in 1972; Innervisions followed in 1973 and pursued a more overtly political and social focus.
