Soluto won the first TechCrunch Disrupt competition in 2010. The Israeli startup created software designed to help users diagnose and resolve computer problems, especially slow startup times and crashes.
TechCrunch Disrupt began as a major technology-startup conference and competition. Its startup battlefield gave early-stage companies a public platform to demonstrate products to journalists, investors and technology audiences. Soluto’s victory helped bring attention to the company during the early growth of consumer software troubleshooting tools.
The event is often confused with TechCrunch’s general conference because “Disrupt” refers both to the conference and its startup competition. Later winners included companies such as Dropbox, which won the 2008 TechCrunch50 event before Disrupt existed, so it was not the first Disrupt champion. Soluto was later acquired by Asurion in 2013.
