Which stadium hosted the UEFA Euro 2016 final?

The UEFA Euro 2016 final was hosted at the Stade de France.

The stadium is in Saint-Denis, just north of Paris, and served as France’s national stadium for the tournament. On 10 July 2016, it welcomed France and Portugal for the championship match, with Portugal eventually winning 1–0 after extra time.

The venue opened in 1998 and was built for the 1998 FIFA World Cup. It hosted that tournament’s final, in which France defeated Brazil 3–0, making it one of the most significant football grounds in the country. Its large capacity and national-team role made it the natural choice for Euro 2016’s showpiece.

A frequent confusion is Estádio da Luz, which hosted the 2014 UEFA Champions League final in Lisbon. Wembley Stadium is associated with several major European finals, while Munich’s Allianz Arena hosted the 2012 Champions League final—but none of those venues hosted the Euro 2016 final.
