The Cowboys have held the top position on Forbes’ sports-team valuation rankings for many years. Their financial success is separate from their recent on-field record: team value measures business performance and future earning power, not championships won in the current season.
The franchise is owned by Jerry Jones, who purchased it in 1989. The team plays at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Forbes’ valuation lists compare teams across sports and countries, so the Cowboys are measured alongside soccer clubs, basketball teams and Formula One organisations.
