Which spacecraft discovered Pandora, one of Saturn’s moons, in 1980?

The story behind the answer

Voyager 1 discovered Pandora, one of Saturn’s moons, in 1980. The spacecraft photographed the small satellite during its historic flyby of the Saturn system, helping scientists identify several previously unknown moons and rings.

Pandora is an irregular, shepherd satellite of Saturn’s narrow F ring. Its gravity helps confine and shape that ring, while the nearby moon Prometheus works with it in a complex interaction. Pandora is much smaller than Saturn’s major moons and has a low-density, irregular body.

The moon was not named immediately after its discovery. The International Astronomical Union later approved the name Pandora, referring to the woman in Greek mythology whose opening of a container released troubles into the world. This name is unrelated to the later music-streaming company, which uses the same mythological reference.
