Ordibehesht begins immediately after Farvardin, the Solar Hijri month containing Nowruz.
Farvardin is the first month of the Solar Hijri calendar and begins on Nowruz, the first day of spring in the calendar system. It has 31 days, so Ordibehesht starts after Farvardin ends.
Ordibehesht is the second month of the Iranian calendar and also has 31 days. Its name is derived from the Middle Persian form of Avestan ashavahišta, associated with truth, righteousness, and the best order in Zoroastrian religious tradition.
A common mix-up is placing Khordad after Farvardin. Khordad is the third month, following Ordibehesht. Esfand is the final month of the year, while Mordad occurs later in summer.
