Which small country's parliament is called the Landtag?

The Landtag of the Principality of Liechtenstein is the country’s unicameral parliament. The German word Landtag literally refers to a representative assembly of a land or territory, and it is also used for several state parliaments in Germany and Austria. In Liechtenstein, however, “the Landtag” specifically means the national legislature.

Liechtenstein’s constitution gives the Landtag important responsibilities, including passing laws, approving the state budget and taxes, supervising the administration, and electing the members of government. The parliament works within a constitutional monarchy: the reigning prince retains significant formal powers, including the ability to sanction laws and appoint the government on parliamentary recommendation.

The Landtag has 25 members elected for four-year terms through proportional representation. They are chosen from two constituencies: Oberland has 15 seats and Unterland has 10. The name can cause confusion because “Landtag” is a general German political term, not a unique name used only by Liechtenstein.
