Which Slayer album was the band’s final studio album, released in 2015?

The story behind the answer

Repentless was Slayer’s final studio album, released in 2015.

The album was released on September 11, 2015, through Nuclear Blast. It was produced by Terry Date and marked Slayer’s first album for that label. The title track was issued as a single and became the name of the record.

Repentless featured founding guitarist Kerry King, vocalist and bassist Tom Araya, guitarist Gary Holt, and drummer Paul Bostaph. Holt had joined Slayer’s touring lineup after the death of founding guitarist Jeff Hanneman in 2013, and he played on the album alongside King.

Slayer announced its farewell tour in 2018 and completed its final concert on November 30, 2019. Repentless is therefore distinct from World Painted Blood, the band’s previous studio album, released in 2009.
