Which skyscraper hosts Taipei's most famous New Year's Eve fireworks display?

The story behind the answer

Taipei 101 hosts Taipei's most famous New Year's Eve fireworks display.

Taipei 101 is a 508-meter skyscraper in Taipei, Taiwan. Its annual fireworks show is projected and launched around the building's exterior, turning the tower's stepped design into a vertical display at midnight. The spectacle is one of East Asia's most recognizable New Year's Eve broadcasts.

The first fireworks display from Taipei 101 took place for New Year's Eve 2004, welcoming 2005. Later shows became more elaborate, combining pyrotechnics with animated LED lighting on the tower's facade. The building's height and distinctive pagoda-inspired form make it easy to identify in images.

Taipei 101 was the world's tallest building from its completion in 2004 until the Burj Khalifa surpassed it in 2010. Its New Year's show is therefore associated with the building itself, not with the nearby Taipei World Trade Center complex.
