Which Seattle band led by Eddie Vedder entered the Rock Hall in 2017?

The story behind the answer

The Seattle band led by Eddie Vedder that entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017 was Pearl Jam.

Pearl Jam emerged from Seattle’s early-1990s grunge scene. The band developed from the musicians of Mother Love Bone after singer Andrew Wood died in 1990; guitarist Stone Gossard and bassist Jeff Ament then helped form the new group. Eddie Vedder joined as vocalist, bringing an intense baritone delivery and socially conscious songwriting.

Pearl Jam’s debut album, Ten, arrived in 1991 and became one of the era’s defining rock records. Songs such as “Alive,” “Even Flow” and “Jeremy” made the band internationally famous, but Pearl Jam also resisted industry conventions, including restrictive ticketing practices and excessive music-video promotion. Their career expanded beyond grunge into a broad, more exploratory rock sound.

Pearl Jam was inducted in 2017, with David Letterman presenting the band. The group became eligible after its first commercial release in 1991. Nirvana, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains are related Seattle-era acts, but none is the answer to this question.
