Bill Nighy voiced Longneck in The Wild Robot. Longneck is an elderly barnacle goose who helps Roz understand the responsibilities of raising Brightbill and becomes one of the island flock’s trusted leaders.

The 2024 animated film is based on Peter Brown’s children’s novel and was written and directed by Chris Sanders. Its story follows Roz, a helper robot stranded on an uninhabited island after a cargo ship accident. When she accidentally destroys a goose nest, she adopts the surviving egg and must learn how to care for the gosling.

Nighy’s warm, measured voice gives Longneck the authority of an experienced mentor. Viewers sometimes confuse the cast roles: Lupita Nyong’o voices Roz, Kit Connor voices Brightbill, and Pedro Pascal voices the fox Fink.
