Game Informer gave EA Sports College Football 27 a review score of 7.5 out of 10.
The rating appeared with Game Informer's review, titled “Passing The Eye Test.” Game Informer is a long-running American video-game publication known for combining feature journalism, previews, interviews, and scored reviews. Its 7.5 rating places the game in the publication's generally positive but qualified range rather than presenting it as an outstanding, near-perfect release.
The wording can cause confusion because multiple outlets review annual sports games, and review scores may be reported on different scales. A 7.5 out of 10 is not the same as a 75-point score from a publication using a 100-point system, even though the numbers may represent similar judgments. Game Informer's review is also distinct from reviews by Polygon, GameSpot, IGN, and other critics.
