Which R&B singer won the Grammy for Best R&B Album in 2010?

Maxwell won the Grammy for Best R&B Album in 2010.

The award recognized his fourth studio album, BLACKsummers'night, at the 52nd Grammy Awards, held on January 31, 2010. The album was Maxwell’s comeback after a lengthy recording hiatus and followed his 2001 release, Now.

BLACKsummers'night was released by Columbia Records on July 7, 2009. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 316,000 first-week copies sold and also topped the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Its music blended contemporary R&B, soul, neo-soul, and funk.

A common mix-up is confusing Best R&B Album with Contemporary R&B Album, which was won by Beyoncé in 2010 for I Am... Sasha Fierce. Maxwell also won Best Male R&B Vocal Performance that year for “Pretty Wings,” giving him two victories from six nominations.
