Which R&B singer released the 1996 album Secrets?

Which R&B singer released the 1996 album Secrets? The answer is Toni Braxton.

Secrets is Toni Braxton's second studio album. LaFace Records and Arista Records released it on June 18, 1996, following her successful self-titled debut. The album continued her partnership with major R&B songwriter-producer Babyface while also involving contributors such as Diane Warren, David Foster, R. Kelly, and Soulshock and Karlin.

The record produced two of Braxton's best-known hits: “You're Makin' Me High” and “Un-Break My Heart.” The former gave her a first No. 1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. “Un-Break My Heart” then spent 11 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100.

Secrets is sometimes confused with Braxton's 1993 debut because both albums were major commercial successes. The distinction is useful: the debut established her career, while Secrets expanded her international audience and became her signature commercial era. It was certified eight-times platinum in the United States and supported a tour running from 1996 into 1997.
