Answer
Boyz II Men
Boyz II Men had the 1994 number-one hit “I’ll Make Love to You.”
Written and produced by Babyface, the song was released on July 26, 1994, as the lead single from Boyz II Men’s second album, II. Its polished ballad style helped the Philadelphia vocal group follow the enormous success of its earlier hit “End of the Road.”
The single topped the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 for 14 weeks, from August 27 through November 26, 1994. At the time, that tied Whitney Houston’s record for the longest run at number one. Boyz II Men later surpassed it with “One Sweet Day,” their 1995 collaboration with Mariah Carey.
The song also reached number one on the U.S. R&B chart and won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. It is sometimes confused with the group’s other major 1994 chart-topper, “On Bended Knee,” which also reached number one later that year.
