Which racer becomes Lightning McQueen's teammate in Pixar's Cars 3?

Cruz Ramirez becomes Lightning McQueen's teammate in Pixar's Cars 3.

Cruz is introduced as a highly trained technician and simulator coach at the Rust-eze Racing Center. She is assigned to help Lightning prepare for a rematch with Jackson Storm, but her initial approach emphasizes data, technology, and controlled practice rather than the older racer's experience.

As the story develops, Cruz's own talent and ambition become clear. She has wanted to race since childhood, yet she was discouraged from pursuing that goal. Lightning eventually recognizes her potential and gives her an opportunity to compete in his place at the Florida 500.

Cruz wins the race, while Lightning adopts a mentor role and helps her continue as a professional racer. Her yellow design contrasts with McQueen's red body, and her character broadens the series' focus from one champion's career to the next generation of racers. In the English version, Cruz is voiced by Cristela Alonzo.
