Which prophet was sold into slavery by his brothers?

The prophet sold into slavery by his brothers was Yusuf, also known as Joseph.

In the Qur’anic account, Yusuf’s brothers became jealous because their father, Ya‘qub, loved him and his younger brother Benjamin especially dearly. They considered killing Yusuf, but one brother persuaded the others to throw him into a well instead. They then returned to their father with Yusuf’s bloodstained garment and falsely claimed that a wolf had killed him.

A passing caravan discovered Yusuf in the well. The travelers drew him out and sold him in Egypt to a wealthy official known in the Qur’an as al-‘Aziz. Thus, Yusuf’s brothers did not personally take him to an Egyptian household; they set the chain of events in motion and sold him to the caravan, which then sold him onward.

Yusuf later became a powerful administrator in Egypt after interpreting the ruler’s dreams. When famine brought his brothers before him, he eventually revealed his identity and forgave them. Musa, Ishaq, and Ya‘qub are also prophets, but none fits this episode.
