Go is the programming language Google announced in 2009 as an open-source language designed for scalable network services.
Robert Griesemer, Rob Pike, and Ken Thompson designed Go at Google. The language was created to improve programmer productivity on large software projects while providing fast compilation, straightforward syntax, and efficient execution.
Go includes built-in support for concurrency through goroutines and channels. Its standard library also provides strong networking and HTTP facilities, helping it become popular for servers, cloud infrastructure, and developer tools.
Go is often called Golang because the domain golang.org was used when the name “Go” was difficult to search for online. “Golang” is an informal alternative name, not a different programming language.
