Which privacy-focused search engine uses shortcuts called !bangs?

The story behind the answer

DuckDuckGo is the privacy-focused search engine that uses shortcuts called “!bangs.” A bang lets a user send a query directly to a particular website by adding that site’s shortcut before the search terms.

For example, a user can type a bang associated with Wikipedia, Amazon, or another supported site and be redirected to that service’s search results. The feature makes DuckDuckGo function partly as a quick gateway to other search systems, rather than requiring users to visit each site first. Bangs are not the same thing as DuckDuckGo’s web crawler or instant answers.

DuckDuckGo was founded by Gabriel Weinberg and launched in 2008. Its privacy positioning became more prominent in 2010, distinguishing it from services built around extensive user tracking and personalization. The company’s name itself comes from the children’s game “duck, duck, goose,” not from the bang shortcut system.
