Which Porsche model is the flagship SUV?
Answer
Cayenne
Answer
Cayenne
The Porsche Cayenne is Porsche’s flagship SUV.
Introduced in 2002, the Cayenne was Porsche’s first production sport-utility vehicle and its first series-production model with four doors. It expanded the brand beyond sports cars while retaining Porsche’s emphasis on performance and handling. The first-generation Cayenne was also notable for offering V8 power and genuine off-road capability.
The Cayenne is larger and more expensive than the Macan, which arrived later as Porsche’s smaller SUV. That makes Macan a common mix-up, especially because both models occupy important places in Porsche’s SUV range. The Taycan is an electric sports sedan, while the Panamera is a four-door grand touring car, not an SUV.
The Cayenne shares engineering foundations with vehicles such as the Volkswagen Touareg and Audi Q7, but Porsche tunes its chassis, engines and styling for a distinct sporting character. It remains a central model in Porsche’s modern lineup.
