Which Pokémon spin-off was the first Pokémon title released for Nintendo Switch?
Answer
Pokémon Quest
Answer
Pokémon Quest
Pokémon Quest was the first Pokémon spin-off released for Nintendo Switch. It launched through the Nintendo eShop in May 2018 as a free-to-start action role-playing game.
The game uses a distinctive blocky visual style and takes place on Tumblecube Island. Players form teams of Pokémon, explore areas, battle wild Pokémon, and prepare recipes that attract additional Pokémon to their base.
Pokémon Quest was developed by Game Freak, the studio behind the main Pokémon role-playing games. It was also the first Pokémon spin-off developed entirely in-house by Game Freak. Mobile versions for Android and iOS followed on June 27, 2018.
The title is often confused with Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, because those were the first mainline-style Pokémon games on Switch. However, Pokémon Quest arrived earlier and was the platform’s first Pokémon release.
