Arceus is described in Pokémon lore as existing before the universe.
The Pokédex and game mythology portray Arceus as a powerful Legendary Pokémon said to have emerged from an egg in a place where there was nothing. It is credited with creating the Pokémon world and is associated with the origin of major cosmic beings.
Arceus is linked to Dialga, the master of time; Palkia, the master of space; and Giratina, associated with antimatter and the Distortion World. It is also connected with Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf, which represent knowledge, emotion, and willpower.
Arceus is a Normal-type Pokémon by default and can change type through held Plates. Its signature move, Judgment, changes type with it. The creation story is Pokémon mythology rather than a scientific account, and different games, anime productions, and translations may present details with variations. The central distinction remains that Arceus is the franchise’s creator figure.
